I began writing what would become Magic and Other Disasters back when I was in high school.
This book has been through no less than seven major revisions, and it was actually the first thing I ever sold
(it was slotted to appear in a serialized magazine format before the whole thing went belly-up). Magic and Other Distractions showed up out of nowhere;
it was the easiest thing I've ever written. This series has a special place in my heart because so much of the
scenery comes from my home town and the surrounding area (not the characters, I never put people I know in my books.)
I love the fictional town of Topeka, Texas, and I hope to spend most of my writing career crafting stories in it.
I'm currently planning the next book in the series, and I have a new short story with Kit and Clair set right after World War II that should be out soon.
It's provisionally called The Tale of The White Lady…but I'm not sure about that title… I don't have as much background stuff just sitting around,
but I'll try to post anything that I think you guys would enjoy. Send me an e-mail if you have any specific requests.
